Your Impact
As a PHP Tech Lead, you will play a critical role in driving the backend development and architecture of platform, leading a team to design and implement scalable, high-performance systems. Key Responsibilities Include:
- Leading technical initiatives and mentoring developers at all levels (Junior to Senior).
- Implementing best practices in OOP, design patterns, and secure coding techniques.
- Guiding the team through architectural decisions and maintaining detailed documentation.
- Overseeing the development and maintenance of RESTful APIs.
- Participating in sprint planning, code reviews, and deployment cycles.
- Collaborating closely with PMs, QAs, and DevOps to ensure smooth delivery.
- Driving continuous improvement in team workflows and development processes, ensuring efficiency and quality.
- Owning the technical roadmap in alignment with product goals.
What You Bring
To excel in this role:
- To succeed in this role, you are highly skilled in modern PHP (PHP 8+) and frameworks like Laravel to build robust backend systems.
- You have proven experience in developing RESTful APIs, versioning, and implementing secure authentication mechanisms (JWT, OAuth).
- You demonstrate strong skills in database management, particularly with MySQL and MongoDB, and use NoSQL technologies like Redis when needed.
You possess hands-on knowledge of Git workflows, branching strategies, and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI). - You demonstrate excellent understanding of software architecture, Clean Architecture, SOLID principles, and (optionally) Microservices.
- You have a solid grasp of unit and integration testing with PHPUnit or Pest.
- You lead daily stand-ups, facilitate sprint planning, and coach developers with clarity and empathy.
- You communicate technical decisions confidently and clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Familiarity with cloud architecture (AWS, GCP) is a plus.
- You manage priorities effectively, ensuring the timely delivery of features in coordination with PMs and QAs.
