Your Impact

As a Chief Accountant, you will be the primary guardian of financial accuracy and compliance for one of the group’s operating companies.

  • You will ensure timely, auditable financial reporting, accurate cost allocation for manufacturing and operations, and robust internal controls that support operational decisions and regulatory compliance.
  • Your work will directly influence pricing, margin management, and cash efficiency across the business unit.

What Success Looks Like

Success in this role means delivering reliable, on-time financial close and management reports, maintaining clean audit trails, and producing actionable insights into costs and profitability that help operations and leadership improve margins and working capital. You will be recognized for stabilizing accounting processes, enhancing costing accuracy, and facilitating faster, data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Manage full-scope accounting for the assigned company: general ledger, month-end close, accruals, and financial statements.
  • Prepare timely management and statutory reports (monthly P&L, balance sheet, cash-flow statements) and present findings to the Finance Manager.
  • Maintain and refine cost accounting systems tailored to manufacturing and agricultural operations (raw material usage, WIP, finished goods, livestock costs).
  • Implement and operate costing methods (standard costing, FIFO/LIFO, weighted average, process costing) to ensure accurate product costing and margin analysis.
  • Control inventory accounting and reconciliation (warehouse cycles, inventory valuation, obsolescence, stock takes).
  • Oversee fixed asset register, capitalization, depreciation schedules, and periodic asset reconciliations.
  • Ensure compliance with local tax and reporting requirements (VAT, corporate tax, …) and coordinate timely tax filings.
  • Lead external and internal audit processes; prepare audit schedules and respond to auditor queries.
  • Manage cashflow planning, bank reconciliations, and treasury interactions for effective working capital management.
  • Oversee intercompany accounting, transfer pricing entries, and reconciliations across group companies when applicable.
  • Improve accounting processes and ERP utilization (chart of accounts, automated entries, reporting templates) to raise efficiency and reduce manual errors.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis; provide cost/price scenario modeling to support management decisions.
  • Ensure internal control compliance and propose control enhancements to mitigate financial risks.
What You Bring

To excel in this role:

  • You are experienced in full-cycle accounting with proven experience in senior accounting roles, preferably in manufacturing, agribusiness, or similar production environments.
  • You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional accounting certification is an advantage.
  • You possess strong knowledge of accounting standards (local GAAP / IFRS) and tax regulations relevant to commercial and manufacturing operations.
  • You have proven expertise in cost & inventory accounting (standard costing, FIFO/LIFO, weighted average, process costing) and experience applying these methods in production settings.
  • You are proficient with ERP/accounting systems and have advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, Power Query, formula modeling).
  • You demonstrate solid experience in tax compliance, VAT reporting, payroll accounting, and social security regulations.
  • You have strong analytical skills and can translate financial data into operational recommendations (margin drivers, cost-to-serve, product profitability).
  • You bring leadership experience managing accounting teams, with proven skills in training, delegating, and ensuring quality control.
  • You are detail-oriented, organized, and skilled in managing tight closing cycles and multiple deadlines.
  • You communicate clearly with non-financial stakeholders and can present numbers, risks, and recommendations to operations and senior management.

How This Position Elevates Your Career

This role provides hands-on ownership of end-to-end accounting in a diverse, operational setting, including manufacturing and agricultural finance, offering deep exposure to cost accounting, audit, tax, and ERP optimization. You will strengthen your leadership portfolio by managing an accounting team and contributing directly to commercial decisions that shape company margins and growth.
