About the role

We are looking for a Senior Trade Specialist to manage end-to-end import operations for an automotive business. This role coordinates suppliers, logistics providers, customs processes, regulatory stakeholders, and internal teams to ensure timely and compliant vehicle imports.

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end import processes for vehicles and related products
  • Coordinate purchase orders, proforma invoices, contracts, and commercial documentation with international suppliers
  • Manage order registration, foreign currency allocation, import permits, customs clearance, and regulatory follow-ups
  • Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, insurers, banks, inspection companies, and government authorities
  • Review invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin, inspection certificates, and other shipping documents
  • Verify HS codes, customs tariffs, duties, taxes, and landed-cost calculations
  • Monitor shipment schedules, clearance timelines, storage costs, and demurrage risks
  • Track changes in automotive import regulations and ensure full compliance with applicable requirements
  • Maintain accurate import files, status reports, cost records, and management dashboards
  • Resolve documentation discrepancies, shipment delays, customs issues, and supplier-related exceptions
  • Collaborate with Finance, Legal, Sales, After-sales, and Operations teams throughout the import cycle

Requirements

  • 4+ years of professional experience in international trade, import operations, or a related role
  • Hands-on experience in automotive or vehicle import operations is required
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle import regulations, order registration, foreign currency allocation, customs clearance, and standards
  • Solid knowledge of international trade documentation, Incoterms, payment methods, and shipping processes
  • Experience working with customs tariffs, HS codes, import duties, and landed-cost calculations
  • Strong supplier coordination, negotiation, and commercial follow-up skills
  • Proficiency in Excel, ERP systems, and import tracking or reporting tools
  • Strong analytical thinking, accuracy, and document-control skills
  • Strong ownership, follow-through, stakeholder coordination, and composure under pressure
