About the role

HR Bamboos is hiring on behalf of a reputable and growing company in the FMCG industry. We’re looking for an experienced Inventory Accounting Specialist to manage inventory-related accounting processes, maintain accurate stock and financial records, and ensure effective reconciliation between warehouse operations and accounting records.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and reconcile inventory accounting records to ensure consistency between physical stock, warehouse records, and accounting systems.
  • Record and review inventory transactions, including receipts, issues, transfers, returns, and adjustments.
  • Monitor inventory valuation and ensure that inventory costs are recorded accurately in accordance with accounting policies.
  • Reconcile inventory balances between the warehouse management system and accounting records, investigating any discrepancies.
  • Participate in periodic and annual physical inventory counts, following up on any identified variances.
  • Review inventory documents to ensure that transactions are properly authorized, recorded, and supported.
  • Prepare inventory-related reports and analyze stock movements, discrepancies, and valuations.
  • Coordinate with the warehouse, procurement, sales, and finance teams to resolve any inventory and accounting discrepancies.
  • Monitor slow-moving, obsolete, damaged, or expired inventory, and assist with the accounting treatment of related adjustments.
  • Support the month-end and year-end closing processes related to inventory and the cost of goods sold.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in inventory accounting, preferably in manufacturing, distribution, or FMCG
  • Practical understanding of inventory accounting, stock reconciliation, and inventory valuation
  • Hands-on experience with warehouse and accounting systems, with mandatory proficiency in Rahkaran System
  • Experience participating in physical inventory counts and investigating stock variances
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
