About the role
HR Bamboo is seeking a Planning Manager on behalf of a growing pharmaceutical company.
In this role, you will be responsible for production, material, and capacity planning and control. You will ensure the timely execution of production plans and the availability of required materials by fostering close coordination across different departments.
Responsibilities
- Develop, manage, and monitor short-, medium-, and long-term production plans based on demand forecasts, customer orders, and factory capacity.
- Plan capacity across production lines, equipment, workforce, and production calendars, and identify operational bottlenecks.
- Lead MPS and MRP processes and oversee raw material and packaging material planning.
- Monitor inventories of raw materials, packaging materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods, ensuring alignment between production plans and market demand.
- Analyze production plan variances, identify root causes, and follow up on corrective actions.
- Coordinate effectively with Production, Quality, Warehouse, Procurement, Engineering, and Sales teams to ensure optimal execution of production plans.
- Manage risks related to supply, capacity, and production, and develop alternative scenarios when required.
- Prepare management reports and dashboards and drive continuous improvement in planning processes.
- Lead, develop, and evaluate the performance of the Production Planning team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Industrial Engineering, Industrial Management, Chemical Engineering, Business Administration, Pharmacy, MBA, or a related field.
- 10+ years of relevant experience in production planning, material planning, supply chain, or operations management, including at least 3 years of managerial or supervisory experience.
- Strong knowledge of MRP, MPS, capacity planning, and inventory management, with familiarity with S&OP.
- Familiarity with GMP requirements and quality processes within the pharmaceutical industry.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience working with ERP systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with sound decision-making in resource-constrained environments.
- Strong cross-functional coordination and team management skills.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with Power BI and experience designing management dashboards.
- Experience in production capacity optimization and bottleneck management.
- Experience in contract manufacturing or outsourced production planning.
