Head of DevOps

HR Bamboos is hiring on behalf of a technology company for a Head of DevOps. We’re looking for an experienced engineering leader to own DevOps strategy, cloud infrastructure, and platform operations. This role combines technical leadership, infrastructure architecture, and team management to build reliable, scalable platforms and improve how engineering teams develop, deploy, and operate software.

• Define and execute the DevOps and infrastructure roadmap in alignment with product and business objectives
• Lead and develop the DevOps team, setting technical priorities, raising engineering standards, and supporting team growth
• Own the architecture and evolution of cloud infrastructure and container-based platforms, with a focus on scalability, availability, and reliability
• Lead the development and improvement of cloud and platform services, including PaaS and KaaS, to deliver scalable capabilities and simplify infrastructure consumption for engineering teams and customers
• Standardize and optimize software build, testing, deployment, and release processes through automated CI/CD pipelines
• Drive Infrastructure as Code and GitOps practices to improve consistency, repeatability, and operational efficiency
• Establish and improve observability across metrics, logs, and traces to identify issues early and strengthen service reliability
• Define high-availability, disaster recovery, and capacity management strategies to maintain service continuity under varying workloads
• Establish infrastructure security standards covering access management, environment isolation, and workload security
• Evaluate emerging technologies, run proof-of-concept initiatives, and assess technical solutions to guide platform evolution and technology adoption
• Lead the response to major infrastructure incidents, drive root cause analysis, and ensure corrective actions are implemented
• Oversee infrastructure costs, resource utilization, and capacity planning, identifying opportunities for cost optimization without compromising service quality
• Partner with Engineering, Architecture, and Product teams to remove technical bottlenecks, improve developer experience, and accelerate product delivery
• Establish technical standards, document architectural decisions, and promote knowledge sharing and continuous improvement

• 8+ years of professional experience in DevOps, infrastructure engineering, platform engineering
• Proven technical leadership experience, including at least 3 years managing or leading DevOps, infrastructure, or platform teams
• Hands-on experience designing, implementing, and operating cloud infrastructure and large-scale production environments
• Strong expertise in Kubernetes and Docker, with experience operating containerized production workloads
• Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, or Argo CD
• Strong knowledge of Infrastructure as Code, with hands-on experience using tools such as Terraform or Ansible
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, networking, storage, load balancing, and infrastructure resource management
• Experience designing high-availability, disaster recovery, scalability, and capacity management solutions
• Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana, as well as log management and distributed tracing
• Solid knowledge of infrastructure security, identity and access management, secrets management, and secure deployment practices
• Proven experience troubleshooting complex production issues and leading root cause investigations
• Strong technical judgment, architectural decision-making, and solution evaluation skills
• Strong team leadership, prioritization, and technical project management skills
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly

• Background in cloud service providers, hosting companies, data centers, or infrastructure-focused technology businesses
• Experience with multi-region, multi-datacenter, or multi-tenant platform architectures
• Familiarity with public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
• Experience implementing GitOps workflows and tools such as Helm and Argo CD
